Am not sure if you guys will be interested watching this film. The movie has no dialogue - just plain character portraying and pure acting. Am curious what is like watching the first full length gay-themed movie in Singapore and in result am not sure if im liking it except for the good looking lead young actor. You decide guys, what do you think of this movie?
Inspired by true events, SOLOS explores relationships among three individuals who are struggling to open up their feelings towards each other. Filmmakers Kan Lume and Loo Zihan co-directed this pathos that dramatizes the selfishness of love and its tragic outcomes. Set in contemporary Singapore, SOLOS follows the endeavors of BOY, MAN and MOTHER. Having been in a relationship with MAN (Lim Yu Beng) for years, BOY (Loo Zihan) eventually grows up and wishes to quit the relationship. Conversely, MAN still wants to be with BOY and for them to settle together. Meanwhile, MOTHER (Goh Guat Kian) is devastated that her son (BOY) has abandoned her and has been in relationship with MAN. As the three characters fight their own demons, SOLOS juxtaposes reality and surreal scenes in order to give clues of each character's inner desires.

ReplyDeleteHaven't downloaded SOLOS yet but, FYI, the young lead actor Loo ZOHAN showed a huge full-frontal erection (and even started stroking its nice length) in another Singaporean mainstream movie called PLEASURE FACTORY (I think). Check it out, dude!

ReplyDeleteYeah I saw that film already. That scene was indeed hot. Too bad it's the only scene that had a frontal. Other scenes had little peekaboos though.

I watched this movie in a vietnamese gay forum before. I think it's very special not only because there's no dialogue. There are many abstact and artistic scences in the movie that we need to see the movie over and over again to really understand the meaning. Actually, sometimes I feel kinda bored with the very slow progress. But when the movie ends, it leaves us many things to think about
ReplyDeletewell one thing i'm starting to notice about filipino gay films is talk talk talk then sex, it seems talking to reveal a story is just an excuse to remove the idea of tagging it as a plain porn film, there is no "moving story" sayang naman ung good looking noypis, unlike foreign ones, like "shank" they have good plot worth watching even by straight guys... bottom line is please post something like those, it's very appreciated :D thanks much!
