Here's Mariah Carey's official lead single (since "Obsessed" is not doing good in the charts") from her upcoming album called "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel". The new song is a cover from Foreigner's hit "I Want To Know What Love Is". I like her version but why is she covering this song? This song has been revived many times already, not quite sure if it's a good idea to make this as an official first single in her new album. I hope it will be a hit.

ReplyDeleteBoth renditions are different though Sarah's arrangement (whomever arrange it for her) is not too far from Tina Arena's version.
Mariah's version is a CLASSIC with a modern style twist. Every time MC covers a song, it seems that she's the one owning the song. I love the "choir" thingy at the end mainly because i love gospel musics.
Mejo bitin nga lang ang ending but hopefully it's the "radio edit" version lng ang narining ko... hopefully mas mahabang version ang nasa album. Or maybe it's their way for audience to crave for more para mas maraming spins sa radio at request, para maghit ang song...

ReplyDeleteIt is unfair to say that Obsessed is not doing well in the charts when it is currently holding steady at No.11 on the Billboard Hot 100 relying heavily on radio impressions! The album has not even been released yet and the single is not yet widely distributed and it's already high up. It would have been at the top already if only the album is out. Currently, the single is at the top of BET chart and countless radio charts here in the US.

Kung laos na si Mariah, paano nakapasok ang Obssessed sa Billboard Hot 100 (currently at #7)without it being widely released. So far, it's only relying on HUGE airplay. You'll know that kung nandito ka sa US. Paano pa kung narelease na yung album? Eh baka number 1 na yan!
And have you forgotten about the best selling album of 2005 - The Emancipation of Mimi? How about the 2008 platinum album E=MC2? Even Madonna's 2008 album couldn't beat that. Sino ang laos ngayon?
Check your facts dude. Again, stay clear of the pretenders and listen to the real critics.
